Our Story
"Sweet" in Georgian.
Beautiful, in the old sense.
A family perfumery from Natakhtari and Tbilisi, now based in the UAE.
Our Name
Tkibili (α’ααααα) is a Georgian word. It literally means sweet β the taste of honey, the smell of ripe fruit, the softness of a good memory. In Georgian, the same word is used for beautiful, tender, and dear. It's what you call a child, a fine wine, or a rose after the first rain of spring.
We chose it because a good perfume should be all of those things at once.
A Country That Grows Things
Georgia is not on the world's map of perfume β but it's on the map of everything that goes into one.
The Kakheti valleys in the east grow some of the most fragrant damask roses in the Caucasus. The Black Sea coast of Ajara has a subtropical climate that produces remarkable citrus β bergamot, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon. The mountain forests of Racha and Samegrelo hold wild raspberry, rhubarb, and ancient oakmoss. The valleys of Abkhazia have grown tobacco for generations. Cedar, walnut, and pine cover the Caucasus foothills.
These are the materials we understand β because they are the smells we grew up with.
Our Notes
When you read a Tkibili composition, you'll notice the same threads:
- Rose β from the Kakheti valleys, where the summers are long and the petals hold their oil
- Tobacco leaf β Georgian-grown, aged until it's soft, smoky, and a little sweet
- Bergamot, grapefruit, and citrus β from the Ajara belt on the Black Sea coast
- Raspberry and rhubarb β from the cold mountain undergrowth
- Oakmoss and cedar β from Caucasus forests older than our churches
We don't pretend everything comes from Georgia. Oud is from Southeast Asia. Frankincense is from Oman. Sandalwood is from India. Jasmine is from Egypt. We source each ingredient from the place that's always done it best, and we're honest about where.
How We Make Them
Every Tkibili fragrance is blended in small batches, patiently, by hand. We distill what we can distill ourselves. We age oud in wood. We add ingredients slowly, and we wait.
A perfume is finished when it's finished β not when the schedule says so.
From Georgia to the UAE
We moved to the UAE the way a lot of people in our region did over the last three decades β for work, then for life, and then because it became home.
Tkibili is now blended from here, for a place that still understands what a fragrance is. Where oud is still lit before a guest arrives. Where perfume is still given as a gift. Where choosing a scent is still a ritual. That's a culture we recognize β even if it isn't the one we were born into.
Welcome
Our fragrances smell like things we actually remember β a rose garden in May, the coastal air around Batumi, a pine forest at dawn, a pot of honey warming on a stove, the hour before sunset in Dubai.
If one of ours reminds you of something you love, we've done our job.
Welcome.
